She hasn't survived as long as she has without learning something. As Mihawk starts throwing himself forward, she closes her book (keeping her pages marked with the tip of one finger, of course) and leaps backward, using her free arm to shield her eyes from the cloud of dust and rocks.
As soon as she's recovered, however, it's right back to skimming through her tome, eyes glinting as she finds just the right spell for this fight — under her breath, she starts reciting the incantation, and an icy wind starts picking up around her.
Better work fast, Mihawk, else you're gonna get a whole lot of cold in your face.
